Deep down we all have our own sense of style and personal vision. We want to see these aspects of ourselves come to fruition but do not always know how to give them life. Facebook, Twitter, blogs, Flickr, Instagram, Pinterest, and the advertising world constantly bombard us with visual stimulation and we often lose sight of ourselves in the midst of it all. Through the Looking Glass is a course that will encourage you to inspire others, and to be inspired. It is about finding beauty in what is simple, cultivating your own personal style, and creating a dynamic with clients that makes each shoot a rich experience and not just another job.

This class covers the nitty gritty: session planning, location scouting, creating inspiration boards to help you relay your vision to your clients, client interaction, building a cohesive portfolio, shooting for YOU, overall workflow pattern to allow you more time to shoot and less time at the computer, and a touch of marketing and branding as well.

This six-week interactive course will push your creative limits. Be prepared to take a step back from scouring social media sites for inspiration and to find the beauty that already exists in you as an artist.

You will have six weekly assignments that will be personally reviewed at the end of each week. The rest of our time will be spent in a forum dialoguing, sharing, and growing together.

We’ll chat. We’ll play. We’ll be inspired. We’ll make beautiful photographs.

“Life’s hardest lessons of loss have taught me that things don’t bring happiness… happiness is found in the people you surround yourself with, exploration of our vast and beautiful world, and precious memories. Perhaps this is why I love being a photographer; I get to capture life lived and freeze those sweet moments for people. I adore fresh flowers on my coffee table, morning walks with my baby boy, caramel mochas, my urban neighborhood, vintage thrifting, and music streaming through my record player. I am a mother of two boys, and a wife to a wonderful husband. As a family, we like to travel and try new things. Our journey takes us all over the place but one thing remains the same… we always march to the beat of our own drum.

One of the things I am most passionate about as a photographer and as a business owner is pushing myself outside my comfort zone… thinking outside the box and overcoming the fear that so often holds us back from making dreams become reality.
